Elder Law
What is Elder Law?
Elder la usually means all laws covering Medicare and Medicaid
for senior citizens.
Who I can Help
My niche is helping people plan for the possibility of having to
live in a nursing home. In that niche, I further concentrate on
those people who don't have enough assets to fully pay for nursing
home care but have too many assets to qualify for Medicaid payment
of their nursing home bills.
Why Help is Needed
With limits set by the government, it takes very
little to exceed its income and assets standards. You technically
need to be a pauper to qualify. If someone has too many assets,
they have to allocate those assets to the nursing home and/or government
until they have eroded them to a bare minimum, depriving their families
of any inheritance.
How I can Help
There are some legal avenues that can be utilized to transfer assets
to a point where the senior citizen either immediately qualifies for
Medicaid assistance or qualifies sooner than they would have otherwise.
The people who have more financial resources can afford to pay for
nursing home care on their own or can afford to pay for insurance
to cover those costs. The people who are not in that financial category
are the ones that I can possibly help.
